About Richland County Criminal History

Richland County criminal records are divided among the Sheriff, Wisconsin Circuit Court, Wisconsin Department of Justice Crime Information Bureau, Wisconsin Department of Corrections, and Wisconsin Public Sex Offender Registry. Each office keeps a different part of the record. We built this private reference site to make those lines clear and to place official portals, request routes, addresses, and phone contacts in one practical starting point.

Why We Built This Site

Wisconsin provides broad access to many government records, yet access begins with the correct custodian. The Richland County Sheriff holds its incident, booking, and jail material. The Clerk of Circuit Court maintains complaints, dockets, judgments, and certified court papers. The Wisconsin Department of Justice Crime Information Bureau manages fingerprint-supported state history through the Wisconsin Online Record Check System, while the Wisconsin Department of Corrections operates custody, supervision, and registry systems. This site organizes the verified request steps, portal links, fees, and office contacts without treating those separate files as one combined record.

What You Will Find Here

  • Local record routes: how Richland County reports, bookings, and court files are requested from the office that created them
  • Official check steps: how Wisconsin name-based checks and authorized fingerprint processes use state and federal channels
  • Agency details: verified contacts for the Sheriff, Clerk of Circuit Court, and statewide record systems
  • Record correction context: where a person starts when a court disposition or Crime Information Bureau entry appears wrong

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site, not part of a Wisconsin court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Its role has firm limits:

  • We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
  • We cannot issue a certified court paper, criminal history, or other official copy
  • We cannot submit a records request, challenge, or expungement filing for a visitor
  • We cannot interpret a charge or provide advice about a specific legal matter
  • We cannot promise that an agency's hours, address, fee, or online interface has not changed

An official copy must come from its custodian, such as the Richland County Sheriff, Clerk of Circuit Court, or Wisconsin Department of Justice.

Search Partners

Search boxes on some pages are supplied by outside providers. Those providers control their products, results, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of these tools may produce a referral fee that supports access to this site. The provider, not this site, decides what its service costs and what information it returns.
